Does the Kiosk Support EMV,NFC, QR, and Third-Party Payment Device Integration?

Start with the payment workflow, not the device photo
A payment-ready kiosk can support different payment workflows, but the correct hardware configuration
depends on how payment will actually happen. Some projects use a third-party payment terminal mounted
on the kiosk. Some use NFC contactless payment. Some use QR code payment from the screen or QR
scanning from a customer phone. Others use a card reader slot, PIN entry device, or acquirer-approved
terminal. Before asking whether a kiosk supports EMV, NFC, or QR payment, buyers should define the
payment provider, country, terminal model, software flow, and certification responsibility.

EMV and NFC integration basics
EMV payment usually involves a certified payment device and payment processing relationship. NFC
contactless payment allows customers to tap a card or mobile wallet on the terminal. The kiosk enclosure
must place the device where customers can reach it comfortably, where the signal works reliably, and
where service staff can access it when needed. If the payment device is supplied by the buyer, AONPOS
can discuss bracket design, opening size, cable routing, and mounting position.

QR code payment workflows

QR payment can work in two common ways. The kiosk can display a QR code on screen for the customer to
scan, or the kiosk can scan a customer-presented QR code using a built-in scanner. These two workflows
require different hardware decisions. A screen-based QR flow may not need a scanner for payment, while a
customer-presented QR flow needs a reliable 2D scanner that can read phone screens. In retail
self-checkout, restaurant ordering, and bill payment kiosks, QR scanning may also be used for loyalty
codes, coupons, order pickup, or account lookup.

Third-party terminal integration checklist
When integrating a third-party payment device, confirm device dimensions, mounting angle, cable
connection, power supply, communication method, operating system compatibility, software handoff, and
service access. Also confirm who is responsible for payment certification and acquirer approval. Kiosk
hardware manufacturers can design the mechanical and electrical environment, but payment approval
usually depends on the payment device provider, processor, or local market requirements.

Best practice before sampling
Before ordering a sample payment kiosk, send the payment terminal model, integration guide, photos,
dimensions, and software requirements to the supplier. Ask for a drawing or module layout before
production. This reduces the risk that the card terminal, NFC reader, QR scanner, printer, and screen
compete for the same space inside the enclosure.

Suggested FAQ block for this page
Q: Can a kiosk support EMV, NFC, and QR at the same time?
A: It can be designed to support multiple payment workflows, but the exact configuration depends on the
payment terminal, software, country, certification, and enclosure design.
