Test the codes used by your stores

Use actual product labels and mobile coupons during scanner testing. Confirm whether the application expects keyboard input or another scanner mode. The selected scanner, not the POS terminal name, determines which barcode types it can read. Avoid assuming that phone screens, damaged labels and printed codes will produce identical results. Check how the application handles repeated scans and incomplete input.

Connect the full sale and receipt workflow

Complete several normal sales with the proposed hardware, including cancellation and reprinting where supported by your software. Check the scanner connection after restarting the terminal. Confirm the operating system and driver package before ordering, so the tested sample matches the equipment supplied for installation.

Software and integration responsibilities

POS software licensing, store data and payment processing are separate from the terminal hardware. Confirm who prepares the system image, installs drivers and connects each peripheral. Software compatibility should be accepted against the actual sample configuration, not an unrestricted compatibility claim.
